Our History
I & M Simpson & Son Pty Ltd was established in 1953 by Ian and Mary Simpson who had migrated to Australia from Scotland. The business has been continued since 1976 by their son Gordon and his wife Janene Simpson. Gordon developed a passion for trucks from a very young age and joined the family business as soon as he finished school. “I’ve been around trucks all my life. I would go out with dad in his truck when I was only three or four years old. You couldn't get me out of them" he remarks. In 2013 Gordon was inducted into the National Road Transport Wall of Fame for his work in the transport industry.
More recently I & M Simpson and Son has expanded into its third generation with children Cameron, Haydn & Sarah joining the team, making this a truly family business.
I & M Simpson & Son have a long history of delivering high quality fuel and oils in the Alexandra area with a customer base including primary producers, transport companies, earthmoving operators, logging & haulage contractors and private customers. Many of our valued customers have been with us for over 50 years.
Simpsons Fuel has a fleet of five tanker combinations – three are dedicated to local work, while the other two mainly work around Melbourne whilst bringing fuel back to the Alexandra & Mansfield sites. This fleet allows the flexibility to deliver fuel to a wide range of customer needs; from semi - trailer loads to small farm deliveries.
Our Safety
Simpsons strive to follow best practice in road and workplace procedures. We are audited by Ampol Accreditors to ensure our workplace safety, environmental management and depot policies are compliant with strict standards.
In addition we choose to be accredited in with TruckSafe program.

To provide the best possible standards in workplace safety we periodically audit your tanks and equipment, to ensure they are to the standards required to accept fuel deliveries.
We will work together to keep your facilities in top condition and can assist you in maintaining tanks and equipment that meet Australia's current standards.
Our Community
I & M Simpson and Son proudly support many local community events and groups. Living and working in the area the Simpson family have a strong community presence volunteering in the local volunteer Fire Brigade, School Committees, and contribute to running events such as Alexandra Open Gardens. Gordon is founding member of the committee for the Alexandra Truck, Ute & Rod Show and the Victorian Truck Drivers Memorial located in Grant St, Alexandra.
